Today is a Brand New Day. Let’s start afresh and take the good choices of TODAY. ~Cheong Kok Weng

Choices have great power; for with it and for from it, our destiny is directed and decided. This is the power that God has entrusted to man; to take responsibilities  for the choices that we make.

God gave mankind the power of choice and none should force others to accept the freedom of choice in relation to the choice of belief in God or otherwise, because this is the inalienable rights that God gave humankind.

However with the choice that we take, it will lead to lead to two entirely different eternal destinations; according to the Word of God. AND this choice is ours to make in the final analysis.

A free mind is a mind that is open to everything and consider everything and accepts facts and truths when it is presented with it. For instance, for a “2 + 2” maths question,  there’s  only one correct answer, that is 4 and not 22,  or other numbers. This can be proven when we add two apples and two apples together, the answer is 4 apples and we can count them as evidence.  When we insist that ‘2 + 2’ is 22 (or other answers)  then we are no longer open to the truth, regardless of the evidence;  for that we are not free, because we do not want to know the truth.

Jesus said in John 8:32 “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

‘NOW’ is a freshly minted moment; choose and act on what is good & needed NOW. ~Cheong Kok Weng

NOW

Every moment is a precious moment; as once it passed-by, it will not come through our paths again.

May we forget about yesterday’s wasted time and give attention and act on good choices NOW and work on the good that we can aaccomplish today.

We need the wisdom from above to utilise well and be aware of this most precious gift of  time that God gives us.

” To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: ” Ecclesiastes 3:1

“The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.”  Proverbs 21:5

“He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.”  Proverbs 10:4

” Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass”.  Psalm 37:5

“(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)”  2 Corinthians 6:2

“Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.”  James 4:14

“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”  Psalm 90:12

Our choice at every moment is what matters, we can make new decisions, at each moment, of the TODAY that God gives us – Cheong Kok Weng

TODAY  ….is a GOOD DAY to START – Take ACTION AND START TODAY.

What we do today,  will impact the tomorrows.  Our determination today will lead to the success of tomorrow,  by the grace of God.

We are not our past, because God gives us each fresh day to decide to do things differently – what really matters is what we decide to do TODAY ,  what you used  to be, is already in the past.

With each new opportunity of the day,  we can choose,  act decisively and differently  in  a way that helps us to be capable of being all that we created to be; reaching towards our highest potential –  for we are made in the image of God.

The beauty of Creation bears witness to God.

Psalm 19:1-3 “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.

There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.”

2 Corinthians 6:2 “(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)”

God is a forgiving God and rich and plenteous in His mercy…

IMG_0672

God is a forgiving God and rich and plenteous in His mercy,
The condition attach  to this is : “to all who call on Him”.

Fundamentally God’s mercy is about forgiveness.  It’s human nature to think he may approach God on his  own merit.  It’s human nature to be proud.

Even your very best, your absolute best, is not enough to please God

But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. ” Isaiah  64:6

“So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God”. Romans 8:8

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:” Romans 3:10

And so, if we are to ever have a relationship with God our prime need, our first need is this – to be forgiven.  God will help us in other areas of our lives – but first and foremost we need to see our need of forgiveness which comes from a merciful God.

Sin is definitely, a relationship breaker.  How many times, if you can even count them, has sin caused you problems and difficulties in relationships. We know that is true. How much more so in our relationship with God.

“He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities”. Psalm 103.10  However, God’s mercy means that he does not treat us as our sins deserve.  We are deserving of destruction and punishment and condemnation. But God’s mercy means that we are not treated as our sins deserve. God’s mercy means we can be forgiven.

Refer also to: Ephesians 2:4-9

“But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

As the sun sets, so too, let the past sets. Don’t be manacled to the past, let it be a lesson to move forward, come the new dawn..~ Cheong Kok Weng

Let’s not be manacled to the past, let it sets as the sun sets,

IMG_1731

As the new dawn begins,  let’s move forward, comes the fresh day.

Close the door to the past, open the door and greet the new day as everyday is a new beginning – it is a brand new day and we can

begin again with a new mindset , new thoughts, changed attitudes, new hope, new strengths, with and by the grace of God.

It is precious privilege to be alive and well and we thank God for the gift of choice of starting again, to write and fill the page of a brand new day as each day, is a new beginning …as long as we are still in the flesh, on planet earth.

” It is of the Lord‘s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. ” Lamentation 3:22-23

Freedom of thoughts, is the freedom to change in the face of truth. ~ Cheong Kok Weng

.IMG_1727

Actually, a man may never be held back from thinking whatsoever he wants so long as he does not divulge to others what he is thinking. The functioning  of his mind is restrained only by the constraints of

his knowledge, understanding, experience and the faculty & resourcefulness of his thoughts and the power of his imagination.

However, in real life, the typical brain is and has a tendency to be innately “effortlessly” indolent; laid back and tends to take the path of least resistance.

The mental world of the ordinary man consists of values, philosophies and way of life which he has accepted without reexamination or double checking and to which he is devoted, emotionally involved and committed. He has a tendency to be unconsciously or consciously antagonistic to anything which would shakeup the customary order of his accustomed  world.

Coupled with being abetted  by societies that have been largely opposed to freedom of thoughts, fresh ideas or new mindsets, it is easy to see why it is hard for him to have the real freedom of thoughts.

A truth that is or which cast doubt on his “established beliefs” and is not in consonance with some of the erroneous beliefs which he holds, seem evil because they are disagreeable –  he cannot change though he is faced with the truths of the matter.

We must change in the face of truths presented to us – that is the real freedom of thoughts that God has endowed us with.

We MUST exercise the TRUE Freedom of thoughts in order to be TRULY FREE.

We need to recalibrate & change course today when we are heading in the wrong direction. ~ Cheong Kok Weng

Change can sometimes be difficult while at other times it can be comforting.

IMG_1713

Would we not want to know that we are heading in the wrong direction rather than not knowing and finding out only at the end of our journey?

There are warning signs and notices we all need to take care and be aware of, that indicate we are heading for a dead-end.

After noticing the signs, we must follow-up by actions in order to correct and readjust our path, and consider it a detour, in reaching the destination.

“Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.” Isaiah 55:6-7″

Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die,..” Ezekiel 33:11a

“Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord God: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?” Ezekiel 18:23

“For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:3-4

“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:” John 11:25

The account of the Resurrection of Jesus

“In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you. And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word. And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him. Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:1-10‬ ‭

Good Friday – the day Death Died.

images

On the first Good Friday, Jesus died on the cross in yours and my place – He assumed (took) and paid the FULL PENALTY of our sin.

Good Friday is the Friday preceding Easter Sunday, and commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death on the Cross at Calvary.

We can celebrate on Good Friday because Christ’s death was a sacrifice so that we could receive the gift of eternal life. Jesus bore our sins, shame, and burden on the cross. The results changed the course of humanity!

“It’s Good Friday. Good because 2000 years ago the events of that day proved that we matter to God.  “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son.” John 3:16

“On this Good Friday may we never forget the true meaning of Easter – ‘For when He was on the cross, I was on His mind.”
