Each day’s morning light is a fresh day of God’s mercy and hope; may we be energised to do what matters today. ~ Cheong Kok Weng

Each new morning light brings new mercies from God and with it, hope. We have the choice to make, to be energised to do what matters most for each day.

May we not let the past shape or define the future, and what we are capable of doing today from the great potential that God has given us ; and cut off any weights  or negative associations that drag us down.

God gives us the power of the will and choice to decide to DO  what MATTERS, each DAY.

The choice rest with us TODAY.  May God help us act wisely.

“It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭10:23‬ ‭

“A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth. Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge. The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit. Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭14:6-9‬ ‭

Thoughts are the seeds that shape our actions and destiny, make sure we plant good thoughts.

God gave us our mind and the power to make choices.

Our minds are powerful, and our thoughts will shape who we are and will become – this choice is ours to make.

“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” Proverbs‬ ‭4:23‬ ‭

“But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:6‬ ‭

Blessed Easter.

HE is Risen. Jesus is Risen.  Death could not hold Him.   Rejoice in the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

There is hope for mankind – renewal and new life in Christ Jesus.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

The case for the resurrection .

“And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:4-9‬ ‭

1st Good Friday – Jesus Died for our sins so that we can be reconciled to God.

82D44F28-D48F-400A-B494-447515851538

Good Friday is good because Christ showed His great love for man, and paid the penalty of the sin of man, so that man may be reconciled with His Creator God.

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
‭‭John‬ ‭15:13‬

“No greater Love,” that is what is manifested to us in the death of Christ, the “no greater Love” that belongs to God, and which is made a gift to us in Jesus Christ who, as God the Son (The Triune God – ONE GOD in “3 Persons”) not only lowers Himself to become a man, but even chooses to lay down His life for us.

This is the greatest gift of God, the gift of His Eternal Love. It is this Life and Love which became incarnate in human flesh, and which reaches it’s most perfect and astounding manifestation in the act in which Christ as both Fully God and Fully man, laid down His human life for us; as for his friends, so we might share His Life and Love for all Eternity.

Good Friday is about a divine exchange: We give Christ our sins, and He gives us His fullness. We become righteous in God’s eyes as we are forgiven for all that we have done wrong.

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:21‬ ‭

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭

The wise decision to plant a good seed now can make us enjoy the fruit in due season. ~ Cheong Kok Weng

From a small seed, a mighty tree emerged.  A seed is sown and planted into the ground; with time it grows into a large tree, then the flowers bloom and  it’s fruit ripen in due season. Change is a continuous process in our lives – may we with God’s help, continue to progress and soar;  with changes that come our way.

Thoughts are the seeds that shape our actions

and destiny.  ~ Cheong Kok Weng

“He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭19:8‬ ‭

Getting wisdom involves the will, affection for it and the intellect – the endeavour to use all available means to seek and find wisdom and prudence. In the process of the striving to obtain wisdom, reaching a higher faculty of reasoning and feelings; a person shows he has regard for the welfare of his soul, spirit and body.

We must remember the keeping of understanding shall find good, shall have great benefits for the conduct in this life. We are to guard it like precious treasure and it will bring us innumerable benefits.

He that is upright in judgment finds favour with God.

Today is a Brand New Day. Let’s start afresh and take the good choices of TODAY. ~Cheong Kok Weng

Choices have great power; for with it and for from it, our destiny is directed and decided. This is the power that God has entrusted to man; to take responsibilities  for the choices that we make.

God gave mankind the power of choice and none should force others to accept the freedom of choice in relation to the choice of belief in God or otherwise, because this is the inalienable rights that God gave humankind.

However with the choice that we take, it will lead to lead to two entirely different eternal destinations; according to the Word of God. AND this choice is ours to make in the final analysis.

A free mind is a mind that is open to everything and consider everything and accepts facts and truths when it is presented with it. For instance, for a “2 + 2” maths question,  there’s  only one correct answer, that is 4 and not 22,  or other numbers. This can be proven when we add two apples and two apples together, the answer is 4 apples and we can count them as evidence.  When we insist that ‘2 + 2’ is 22 (or other answers)  then we are no longer open to the truth, regardless of the evidence;  for that we are not free, because we do not want to know the truth.

Jesus said in John 8:32 “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

‘NOW’ is a freshly minted moment; choose and act on what is good & needed NOW. ~Cheong Kok Weng

NOW

Every moment is a precious moment; as once it passed-by, it will not come through our paths again.

May we forget about yesterday’s wasted time and give attention and act on good choices NOW and work on the good that we can aaccomplish today.

We need the wisdom from above to utilise well and be aware of this most precious gift of  time that God gives us.

” To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: ” Ecclesiastes 3:1

“The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.”  Proverbs 21:5

“He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.”  Proverbs 10:4

” Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass”.  Psalm 37:5

“(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)”  2 Corinthians 6:2

“Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.”  James 4:14

“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”  Psalm 90:12

Our choice at every moment is what matters, we can make new decisions, at each moment, of the TODAY that God gives us – Cheong Kok Weng

TODAY  ….is a GOOD DAY to START – Take ACTION AND START TODAY.

What we do today,  will impact the tomorrows.  Our determination today will lead to the success of tomorrow,  by the grace of God.

bees

We are not our past, because God gives us each fresh day to decide to do things differently – what really matters is what we decide to do TODAY ,  what you used  to be, is already in the past.

With each new opportunity of the day,  we can choose,  act decisively and differently  in  a way that helps us to be capable of being all that we created to be; reaching towards our highest potential –  for we are made in the image of God.

The beauty of Creation bears witness to God.

Psalm 19:1-3 “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.

There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.”

2 Corinthians 6:2 “(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)”

God is a forgiving God and rich and plenteous in His mercy…

IMG_0672

God is a forgiving God and rich and plenteous in His mercy,
The condition attach  to this is : “to all who call on Him”.

Fundamentally God’s mercy is about forgiveness.  It’s human nature to think he may approach God on his  own merit.  It’s human nature to be proud.

Even your very best, your absolute best, is not enough to please God

But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. ” Isaiah  64:6

“So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God”. Romans 8:8

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:” Romans 3:10

And so, if we are to ever have a relationship with God our prime need, our first need is this – to be forgiven.  God will help us in other areas of our lives – but first and foremost we need to see our need of forgiveness which comes from a merciful God.

Sin is definitely, a relationship breaker.  How many times, if you can even count them, has sin caused you problems and difficulties in relationships. We know that is true. How much more so in our relationship with God.

“He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities”. Psalm 103.10  However, God’s mercy means that he does not treat us as our sins deserve.  We are deserving of destruction and punishment and condemnation. But God’s mercy means that we are not treated as our sins deserve. God’s mercy means we can be forgiven.

Refer also to: Ephesians 2:4-9

“But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
